Texas A&M Football: 3 bold predictions on the road vs. South Carolina
By Shelbie Warr
2. The Aggie defensive line will eat Jake Bentley alive.
The now junior quarterback of the Gamecocks, Jake Bentley, was sidelined against Missouri due to an injury. However, he seems to think that he is ready to go and ready to take on the big test that is the Aggie front line on defense. The first thing I will say about that is that Terry Touchdown and Benny Snell of Kentucky would tell you otherwise in a hurry.
So far, he has yet to show any consistency or true confidence that a leader needs to run an SEC caliber offense. That isn’t to say that the Aggie offense has been perfect, because it hasn’t. However, many South Carolina fans would agree that it is time to move on from Jake Bentley and this game will prove that point very quickly.
The Texas A&M Aggies have one of the best defensive fronts in the country. They have snuck into that spot this season and it has kept them in multiple games, Alabama notwithstanding because let’s be honest now- no one is beating the Tide.
My bold prediction? Texas A&M picks up quite a few sacks of Jake Bentley as he struggles with confidence and executing the plays given to him. He has a few weapons on offense, but if you can’t get it to those guys quick enough you are going to have a long day.
Kingsley Keke, Landis Durham, Daylon Mack….we are all looking at you here.
