Florida Football: 3 takeaways from Gators’ win vs. Vanderbilt in Week 7

2. Inconsistency will kill Florida
Since Dan Mullen took over, the Gators have been much better. However, that hasn’t fixed the inconsistency that this team is plagued with year in and year out. This year though, it has been as bad as ever. There isn’t a better example than the fact that this team outplayed LSU a week ago, a powerhouse of the SEC West, and then nearly lost to a bottom of the barrel SEC East team.
Trust me on this one Gators fans, this will kill your team in a hurry. If you think you are going to be a threat to the Georgia Bulldogs- this isn’t the way to do it. The Gators have South Carolina, Missouri and Georgia left in conference play. None of those games are easy winners for the Gators, especially if they play like they did today.
Inconsistency is a problem that starts on the offense and spreads like a virus that infects season after season for your team. Is Dan Mullen the answer for that? Has he done enough to help this team grow into what it could be in the first season? I don’t know, but what I do know is that this team has a lot of growing to do and not a lot of time to do it.
