4. Georgia’s first loss is still fresh

Losing for the first time on the year can be a dangerous thing for playoff contenders. With that first loss comes pressure to make sure it doesn’t happen again. However, in the Bulldogs’ case, they’ll have to avoid a letdown against a top-10 team on a neutral field which isn’t exactly the easiest task.

The Bulldogs were throttled by LSU two weeks ago and they’re fresh off a bye week. That could be a good thing, but it could also mean that they are as cold as cold can be coming into this top-10 matchup.

Georgia hasn’t been used to losing much since Kirby Smart took over and the Bulldogs probably expected to roll through LSU two weeks ago. Things always change. The Bulldogs weren’t expecting that much of a fight from the Tigers and they were beaten badly, hardly recognizable after the loss.

Smart has to keep his guys focused on Florida as well as a looming playoff race, but that can’t be easy with a lot of confidence shattered in the LSU defeat.

No, that wasn’t the end of the Bulldogs’ season, but that’s the kind of loss that can snowball into two or three. The pressure is on Georgia and it won’t handle that well.
