Welcome back to the “bottom, but not bottom bottom” club Volunteers. This team- man I still don’t understand them a bit. They have been up and down all season long. They consistently struggle in games that everyone thinks should be in the bag and then turn around and knock off Auburn and Kentucky like it’s no big deal.

Jeremy Pruitt is building something quality in Knoxville. This isn’t exactly how they drew their season up for sure, but there was quite a bit of reason to be positive as the year has drawn on. We are starting to see a confidence and a swagger of sorts return to Knoxville and that is a site for sour eyes.

The Aggies move up one spot after their bounce back, bowl eligibility locking win against Ole Miss. They- like the Volunteers- aren’t where they wanted to be as the season begins to wind down, but have shown a bright moment or two so far this season.

At this point, the Ags only real hope is the fact that this isn’t Jimbo Fisher’s team. He is doing what he can with players that aren’t his recruits. How long does that excuse last? For me, since the majority of that team is young and moldable, maybe one more season. However, Fisher’s team will be headed to a bowl game for the 10th year in a row so that is something for sure.
