1. Playoff hopes are on the line

While this may have not been a reason a week ago as both West Virginia and Oklahoma looked to be heading into this game as playoff contenders, a Mountaineer loss to Oklahoma State changed things.

The Cowboys were able to knock off the red-hot Mountaineers in shocking fashion, even after West Virginia built a 10-point lead late in the game.

For Oklahoma, there are still playoff hopes on the line. West Virginia has a chance to play major spoiler here, but the Sooners are going to remain focused and keep in contention for that last playoff spot that will likely be up in the air depending on the outcomes of this weekend — namely Michigan vs. Ohio State.

The Sooners must remain focused and no look ahead to the Big 12 title game, but Lincoln Riley does a good job of keeping his guys focused and that’ll continue.

Teams seem to play harder when playoff hopes are on the line and you’ll see a more motivated Oklahoma team.
