2. Eric Dungey is one heck of a competitor

As if we didn’t already know this, Eric Dungey proved once again why he’s considered one of college football’s “tough guys”. No, I’m not talking about the relentless trash talk he sometimes brings to the table and emotion he wears on his sleeve, but rather the fact that no one knew if he was going to play on Saturday and he did, looking like an All-ACC quarterback.

Dungey’s not afraid to get in a defender’s face after trucking him or absorbing a big hit but he was more so showing his effectiveness rather than talking in Chestnut Hill.

The senior quarterback shook off a nagging injury and pieced together one of the best games of the season. He passed for 362 yards and three touchdowns, completing 21-of-34 passes. He also rushed for three scores though his yards per carry mark wasn’t all that great.

Any team in the country would love to have a quarterback like Dungey who is one of those old-school tough guys who doesn’t let non-serious injuries keep him out. He’ll have to break some bones in order to be kept out of a game.

Syracuse is benefitting from this tough attitude.
