2. The Jimbo Fisher hire was a home run for Texas A&M.

Texas A&M has caught a lot of judgment for dropping $75 million to hire Jimbo Fisher away from Florida State. No one is questioning letting Kevin Sumlin go, as is shown by his epic meltdown as Arizona took on Arizona State earlier on Saturday. He was quite obviously not the coach that would take Texas A&M to the place it wants to be. Was it worth $75 million though? Was Jimbo Fisher really worth all of that?

Right now, after the game that I just witnessed, I am here to say- HELL YEAH IT WAS.

What Fisher has done for this program is absolutely unbelievable. Yes, it is still an 8-win regular season. However, let’s look at how this season played out. This team nearly knocked off Clemson and stood toe to toe with Alabama. This team had a late game meltdown that killed them vs. Auburn, but still played well. Now, they have a win against LSU at home to end the season and finished second in the SEC West.

Those things were unheard of a year ago. Looking at this year’s schedule, many people were afraid of the absolute worst happening. That isn’t what happened though and we have Jimbo Fisher and his staff to thank for that. He has turned this team around. He has given this group a confidence that hasn’t been seen around Aggieland in years. He has shown these players that they have the ability to do great things.

Simply put, yes this hire and the money that came with it was worth it for those guys down in College Station. Jimbo Fisher is going to take this program to places it hasn’t been in this century.
