1. KJ Costello is extremely underrated nationally

On the reverse side of Bryce Love, KJ Costello has had an impressive season and one that has gone relatively under-appreciated nationally.

Stanford fans must realize they have a special talent under center as Costello has pieced together a 3,000-yard passing season — some of that success may be due to the fact Love was struggling to run the ball. Nonetheless, he went 18-for-29 with 237 yards and a touchdown without turning the ball over on the road against an improved Cal defense.

The third-year quarterback has quietly become one of the most consistent passers in the country and it’s hard to believe he spent the 2017 season, for the most part, sitting behind Keller Chryst.

Just how good of a year has Costello had? He has passed for over 230 yards in all but two games — Notre Dame and USC — and hit the 300-yard mark seven times. He fell just short of 30 touchdowns, hitting 29 on the year, with 11 interceptions.

Stanford gets this kid for another season, and that’s bad news for the rest of the Pac-12. This kid is a quiet stud.
