2. Quarterback duel could be legendary

When you hear about a matchup between Arizona State and Fresno State, you don’t automatically think, “Wow, that’s going to be one epic quarterback duel.”

And that’s OK but this time around, it’s different.

The Sun Devils boast one of the best quarterbacks from the Pac-12 in Manny Wilkins who finished the regular season with 2,896 yards and 19 touchdowns with only four interceptions. He wasn’t quite as prolific a passer as he was a season ago, but he has a chance to surpass those numbers from last season with a big game — and he doesn’t make many mistakes.

Fresno State’s Marcus McMaryion played his first two seasons at Oregon State before deciding to transfer, and it ended up being the best decision. He’s starred at Fresno State with over 2,700 yards last year and 3,453 yards and 25 touchdowns this season as opposed to just three interceptions.

These two quarterbacks have a combined seven interceptions on the year with completion percentages over 63 percent.

Oh yeah, and both can run with the ball as they have a combined 15 rushing touchdowns on the year.
