2. The record, statistics speak for themselves itself.

The Oklahoma Sooners just locked up the No. 4 spot in the College Football Playoff after topping the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship game. Earlier in the season, the Sooners fell to the Longhorns in a Red River Rivalry for the ages. That ended up being their only loss this season and after avenging said loss in the conference championship game, the Sooners seemed to be a shoe-in to most for the final spot.

The first matchup between the Sooners and the Longhorns was an instant classic. It came down to “Dicker the Kicker” as the Sooner defense was once again gashed despite Kyler Murray and his offense putting up a big-time comeback in the fourth quarter. There is very little that can be pinned on the quarterback in terms of blame for this one.

He can’t be blamed for any other of the surprisingly close games that were part of the Sooners 2018 season. He finished 241-of-340 passing for 4,053 yards, 40 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Oh and he also added 123 carries for 892 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Those kind of numbers don’t happen on accident. He is the leader of the nation’s best offense.
