1. Stanford winning is a big deal for a struggling Pac-12 conference.

This is a big deal y’all. The Pac-12 has absolutely bombed in recent seasons, especially this one. Washington was decent, good enough to take on Ohio State in a New Years Six Bowl. Washington State had a run at the College Football Playoff for a hot minute, but otherwise this conference has been absolutely horrible.

Let’s take a look at those teams that are supposed to be good in this conference. UCLA hired Chip Kelly and had one of the worst seasons in Bruins history. USC gave quite a few teams a fake version of a “quality win” as they really weren’t all that great either.

To put it mildly, no one in the Pac-12 has really been able to sustain anything since the Washington Huskies put together a run to the Playoff a few seasons ago. Because of that, Stanford winning this game over an ACC team like Pitt, who no matter how disappointing of a season they are having always seem to play spoiler for other teams, is a step in the right direction for the beleagured Pac-12.

Congratulations on your win Stanford. The entire Pac-12 thanks you I am sure. They will at least have two wins this bowl season. That’s not a lot, but it could always be worse.
