The National Signing Day drama is right around the corner and Florida football is still aiming to land a few guys. Who are the top five remaining targets?

Dan Mullen did a heck of a job in his first season as Florida’s head coach, leading the Gators to a double-digit win season, spot in the final AP Top 25 and a blowout bowl win over Michigan.

Not many truly expected this type of success in his first year, but Mullen’s Gators are ahead of schedule and they may only get scarier for opponents in 2019 as Emory Jones could push Feleipe Franks for the starting quarterback job and Florida is bringing in a top recruiting class.

In fact, the Gators currently rank No. 11 nationally and fifth in the SEC for 2019 and still have a chance to land a few top-ranked guys.

Let’s take a look at the top remaining National Signing Day targets for the Gators.

This may be the least likely of targets remaining on the Gators’ board, assuming Dan Mullen still sees him as an option, but as recently as December, Nathan Pickering was considering the Florida Gators.

The four-star defensive end from Mississippi is a guy who has been recruited by Mullen for years, dating back to his days as Mississippi State’s head coach. While that may be a positive for the Gators, it seems as if Pickering wants to stay close to home as he’s been committed to those Bulldogs for about seven months.

Pickering has shown that he’s still shopping around, taking other visits, including a recent official to LSU, but Mullen will have to pull some magic to flip him from the home-state Bulldogs.

The four-star defensive end is ranked the No. 35 player in the class and Mississippi’s fourth-best overall recruit, per 247Sports. He is tough to handle at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds and can play any position on the defensive line.
