Landing a JUCO transfer is slightly more enticing than picking up a commitment from an unpolished four-star recruit for a couple of reasons. For one, the kid will have had at least a year of college experience and he’ll be ready to face the increase in talent at the next level. Secondly, his game will be well molded and more polished and ready to compete.

Lakia Henry is a guy who could come in and give the Rebels a run at the linebacker positions though Mohamed Sanogo still has a couple years of eligibility left.

If he plays well enough in the fall, he could find his way onto the field at a different linebacker spot or just join the rotation on a heavy basis.

Let’s not count chickens before they hatch, though. Henry is still just a target for the Rebels, ranked the No. 3 JUCO prospect in the nation and the top inside linebacker at that level, according to 247Sports. If he were to pick Ole Miss, the Rebels would have some decisions to make on their defense — such as, how can we get this guy on the field early on?

Arkansas and Texas are also players for the Dodge City C.C. sensation.
