2. The Gators are winning the state of Florida right now

Recruiting in a big football state like Florida is no easy task. You are competing with the likes of Florida State, Miami and now UCF who has decided that they will become a football powerhouse that no one expected. Let’s look at each team quickly.

Florida State is in a landslide to end all landslides. So far, the Willie Taggart era is off to a horrid start that has fans extremely disappointed- especially those who were so sure that losing Jimbo Fisher wouldn’t be that big of a deal for the Seminoles. I guess they were wrong on that front.

Miami just grabbed Tate Martell off the quarterback market, but from what we all have seen it is all about defense in Miami and the Hurricanes have struggled on that front in 2018, so that is something they will have to fix in 2019 for sure.

For UCF, we see a program that nearly had a two season long winning steak. While that is impressive and all, they play a very easy schedule in comparison to the other programs across the state and that puts them at a disadvantage.

That leaves us with the Gators — the group that has proven that they are contenders in the SEC East after a successful 2018 and are looking for even more in 2019. Florida owns the state right now and recruiting success will come with that before long.
