Let me be the first to say that when I saw this young man’s name, all I could think of was Friday Night Lights and for the sake of Texas A&M football and their historically weak secondary I hope this kid can garner a nickname such as “Smash Williams.” Could that be wishful thinking? Maybe, but what isn’t is the fact that with an already thin unit in terms of secondary — Williams is a likely instant impact player as he has been dubbed one of the top safeties of the 2019 class.

Williams’ older brother plays running back at Arkansas, but Brian is absolutely ready to make a name for himself outside of what his brother has been able to pull off in the Southeastern Conference. He is a very well rounded player who has the ability to blow up the run game and then turn around and be the tremendous cover guy you need the next play. Built like a safety, he can turn and run with receivers like a corner would.

Simply put, Aggie fans, if you liked Armani Watts, you will love this kid. He is already operating at an extremely high level, being one of those rare four year high school starters. There is no where to go but up and that journey will start quite early for him at Texas A&M.
