3. Who will step up as the No. 2 running back, Perine’s replacement

Lamical Perine isn’t gone just yet, but Florida will soon be looking for his replacement as he enters his final season in Gainesville.

That question may not need an answer just yet, but the Gators could use an emergence in the backfield behind Perine. Having depth there can’t hurt, but Florida needs to figure out which one of Dameon Pierce, Iverson Clement, Malik Davis or Nay’Quan Wright will be the No. 2 back behind Perine as the offseason progresses.

My guess is we will find out during spring ball and the early favorite has to be Pierce who was third on the team in rushing in 2018 with 424 yards and two touchdowns on 6.1 per touch as a freshman. He has to be the early favorite, right?

Many are high on soon-to-be sophomore Clement who came in as a four-star athlete in the 2018 class while Davis has the talent to compete for No. 2 carries as well.

The inevitable starter when Perine is gone looks to be Pierce, but who will make him work for that job?
