Baylor won a fairly intense in-state battle for Waller, Texas, native Gabriel Hall, reeling in the three-star defensive tackle to help provide depth on that defensive line.

Gone is Ira Lewis from the nose tackle spot and both Tyrone Hunt and Bravvion Roy will be seniors up front, making it imperative for the Bears to find replacements at defensive tackle. Hall seems to be the clear leader in the 2019 class to come in and have an immediate impact on the defensive line, especially with his impressive frame.

In fact, Hall stands 6-foot-5 and weighs in at 280 pounds and he has the ability to overpower opposing linemen, but is a master of patience. He’s not the kind of down lineman to over-pursue a play and can patiently wait for the ball-carrier and quarterback to finish play-fakes to make a move. He also has a decent reach to bat down passes.

Hall is ranked the No. 832 player in the class as well as the 61st-best defensive tackle. He can play just about anywhere on the defensive line and we can expect the Bears to move him around accordingly.
