Things got weird in last season’s Vanderbilt vs. Florida game in Nashville due to a targeting call on a Gator player which injured a Commodore. Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason lost his mind and so did Dan Mullen, leading to one of the more chippy moments from college football’s regular season as the two coaches were screaming at each other from across the field.

It’s safe to say these two teams don’t really like each other, especially when both sidelines tried to rush across the field to start an all-out brawl, but luckily that was all avoided.

Florida seemed fired up by its head coach losing his mind on the sideline and it turned a 21-10 deficit into a 37-27 win. The Gators went on a 27-6 run to end the game and we can expect more of the second-half dominance in the 2019 matchup with Kyle Shurmur no longer under center for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt won’t have much of an offense in this one as Florida will shut the door on that facet of the Commodores’ game and home-field advantage will prove to be too much to overcome for the young team.

It could be a rough year for Vandy.

Final Score: Vanderbilt 13, Florida 35 (8-2, 5-2 SEC)
