Florida State is in a weird place right now. Willie Taggart took over hoping to bring the Seminoles back to relevancy after Jimbo Fisher led them to a 7-6 campaign before leaving the program for Texas A&M and the SEC but things haven’t quite gone as planned.

In fact, Florida State missed its first bowl game in decades in Taggart’s first season in 2018 and the Seminoles were blown out by Florida in the annual rivalry game, 41-14.

Will this matchup be closer? Probably, but Florida isn’t going to relinquish bragging rights in this rivalry that easily. The Gators will win this intense battle yet again and people will begin to question if Taggart is really the right man for the job in Tallahassee.

Florida State will make a bowl game, though, but an average 7-8 win season isn’t going to be enough to silence the doubters, especially with a two-touchdown loss against Florida.

Dan Mullen will record his second straight 10-win season and earn yet another New Year’s Six bowl berth — hopefully it’s not against Michigan again.

Final Score: Florida State 20, Florida 34 (10-2)
