Believe me when I say this: Tennessee is a program on the rise. OK, don’t laugh, but I truly believe with Jeremy Pruitt in town and the Volunteers recruiting at a high level along with the rest of the SEC that Tennessee will be back in the thick of things in 1-2 years time.

But not just yet.

Tennessee may get back to 7-8 wins in 2019, but one of those won’t be against these Florida Gators, especially with Dan Mullen at the helm.

In Knoxville last season, the Mullen-led Gators finished off the Volunteers in dominant fashion, 47-21, and while we can’t expect another blowout win for Florida, it will improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play with a two-possession victory over Tennessee.

Jarrett Guarantano is going to play a solid game as he and Feliepe Franks have a decent duel, but the game will come down to who can run the ball more effectively and the nod will go to the Gators with a loaded backfield.

Tennessee just doesn’t have the explosiveness on offense to compete in the SEC East just yet.

Final Score: Tennessee 20, Florida 31 (4-0, 2-0 SEC)
