Everyone remembers the drama that surrounded former blue-chip recruit Jacob Copeland back on National Signing Day a year ago. The top recruit’s mother walked out of the signing day ceremony where he was announcing his decision and it led to everyone wondering if she’d ever come around to give her blessing about the pledge.

A year into his Florida career and he’s been given a redshirt as he didn’t play much, catching just one pass for 16 yards as he was behind quite a few stars at receiver on the depth chart.

Many are expecting big things from the former top-100 recruit as the Gators are looking to add some depth at the position. He’s one of the most talented players on the team and he could be an excellent speed receiver at 6-foot-0 and 198 pounds. He has strong hands and can make difficult catches look routine.

The Gators could be in the market to insert a fresh face into the starting lineup at receiver, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of Copeland this season as he adds another year of experience.
