Chris Olave never had more than two catches in a single game during his freshman season — that was before the Big Ten title game against Northwestern.

No one expected the Wildcats to have much of a shot against the Buckeyes — which they didn’t — but the game wasn’t totally bland despite a three-touchdown discrepancy. The freshman wide out burst onto the scene and stole some headlines, catching a career-high five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

This came just one week after catching two passes for 48 yards and his first two career touchdowns in a blowout win over rival Michigan.

Although he wasn’t quite a household name, Olave opened some eyes and gave fans a glimpse into the future and he has a chance to do even more this spring.

Johnnie Dixon, Terry McLaurin and Parris Campbell are all gone — as well as L’Christian Smith via transfer — which means that the receiver positions are up for grabs. Don’t be shocked to see this kid steal the show yet again.
