Offensive Line

Starters: Stone Forsythe, Brett Heggie, Nick Buchanan, Chris Bleich, Jean Delance
Backups: Richard Gouraige, Ethan White, Kingsley Eguakun, T.J. Moore, Michael Tarquin

Perhaps the biggest question mark heading into the 2019 season is the play of the offensive line. Reports out of spring did not paint a pretty picture as the defensive line consistently beat the first unit and often dominated the second unit. However, the offensive line has plenty of time to get their play in order and John Hevesy has already proven his ability to transform underperforming units into solid contributors.

Time remains on the Gators’ side, but eventually significant progress needs to be seen.

The first team consists of Stone Forsythe, Brett Heggie, Nick Buchanan (the only returning starter from last year’s team) Chris Bleich and Jean Delance. Nothing is set in stone and these players have seen time at several different positions as the coaches search for the correct combination.

Depth also remains a major concern. Even if the first unit rounds into form, players like Heggie have missed significant time due to injury in the past. The Gators desperately need several younger players to raise their level of play and provide the depth necessary to excel during the long and tenuous SEC season.
