4. Lamical Perine, RB

Lamical Perine’s college career has been solid, but mostly overlooked thus far. Having to sit behind lots of talent at the running back position, Perine enters the 2019 season the clear leader to receive the lion’s share of carries for the Gators.

Perine is another one of those players who won’t have an internet-breaking combine, but he gives value by being a jack-of-all-trades. Running, receiving, blocking – Perine excels at it all.

Last year while sharing the ball with the since-departed Jordan Scarlett, Perine recorded 826 yards with an average of 6.2 yards per carry. He also hauled in several key passes and proved his ability to be a real threat out of the backfield. Perine’s top qualities include his durability, his patience with the ball in his hands and his low-center of gravity that allows him to bounce off tackles with ease.

By returning for his senior season, Perine has a legitimate shot at becoming the first Gator running back in years to break the 1,000-yard mark in a season. Further, if he can insert himself more into the passing game, Perine will become the perfect prospect for an NFL that now values receiving and flexibility from its running backs more than ever before.
