2. Oregon

While Jim Leavitt might be gone, Mario Cristobal was still a major factor in his recruitment and the Ducks actually were the runner-ups to Florida when he decided to commit.

Right now, though, Oregon is one over the scholarship limit so it would have to make some tough decisions regarding some guys lower on the depth chart, but the Ducks would likely make room for a guy like Chris Steele who they were so heavily involved with prior to his commitment.

Oregon’s defense has been on the rise for the past couple of seasons so that could be an intriguing option and it’s closer to home than Oklahoma and Florida, so that’s also attractive for the young transfer.

Steele would join a 2019 class which was ranked near the top of college football and a team that has been dubbed a preseason top-10 playoff contender and a Pac-12 favorite.

Heading back out west would be a likely option for Steele and he would have a chance to contribute as soon as he’s eligible for a team he was incredibly high on throughout the recruiting process. This would be a match made in college football heaven.
