The 2019 season is approaching, but Florida football fans are remaining cautiously optimistic. Here’s why Gator fans should be excited post-spring.

If you’re a Florida football fan, you’re probably cautious about getting too revved up about upcoming seasons given the disappointment the program has suffered over the past few years dating back to Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain.

The Gators have never truly been a doormat in the SEC, but there have been many years where they didn’t live up to expectations and that’s caused the fan base to lower the bar.

However, Dan Mullen isn’t going to allow it to remain that way. In his first year with the Gators, the former Mississippi State head coach won 10 games and beat Michigan in the Peach Bowl by a comfortable margin — something the program hadn’t been able to do for years.

Moving forward, Florida brings back a plethora of talent on the offensive side of the ball and will have to reload a bit on defense.

And despite having a couple of offseason hiccups with early enrollees Jalon Jones and Chris Steele entering the transfer portal for different reasons, the future looks bright for the Gators after spring ball.

Why should Florida fans be so excited about the 2019 season?
