Florida Football: 5 reasons to be excited about 2019 season after spring
5. Top-10 incoming recruiting class
Dan Mullen has been one heck of a recruiter since getting to Gainesville and even though two guys from his 2019 class, both early enrollees, are entering the transfer portal, he still has one of the top hauls in the country.
In fact, Florida’s recruiting class was ranked No. 9 nationally and even though Chris Steele and Jalon Jones are expected to depart, the Gators shouldn’t suffer at those two positions. To replace Steele at cornerback is fellow four-star and early enrollee Kaiir Elam who is ranked in the top 50 nationally and at quarterback, the Gators have plenty of talent in Feleipe Franks and Emory Jones.
Those two losses hurt, but Florida’s recruiting class is still one that could have an immediate impact and has plenty of pieces remaining.
Khris Bogle is a solid defensive end, Moamoud Diabate is a rising linebacker, Lloyd Summerall is relatively overlooked at end, Michael Tarquin and William Harrod both could have an impact on the offensive line and Jaydon Hill, too, could see time at cornerback. All of those guys are four-star early-enrollees and the Gators have eight more four-stars who will arrive this summer.
Florida’s 2019 class will be a force almost immediately.
