3. Loaded backfield

If there’s one thing Florida fans have to be excited for heading into the 2019 season, it has to be the backfield.

Even after losing Jordan Scarlett to the NFL, the Gators return Lamical Perine who rushed for 826 yards and seven touchdowns on 6.2 yards per carry last season as well as Dameon Pierce who had a breakout freshman season, Kadarius Toney who is a hybrid, Malik Davis who missed plenty of 2018 and Iverson Clement.

This stable of running backs might be the deepest in the entire SEC and one of the best in the country. Everyone talks about Alabama and Georgia having great running backs and immense depth, but why no mention of Florida?

Dan Mullen will probably go with Perine as the starter but Pierce and Davis will provide solid reps as the No. 2A and No. 2B running backs.

Toney will change the pace a bit and Clement could surprise some people heading into his second season with the Gators.

This backfield is scary.
