1. Feleipe Franks’ growth

Feleipe Franks or Emory Jones? That seemed to be the question on a number of Florida fans’ minds heading into the spring as they watched teams like Alabama and Clemson win with first-year starters. Could Franks really take that next step and secure the starting job?

After spring ball, it seems apparent that Franks has taken that next step and is growing into one of the better quarterbacks in the SEC.

In fact, our very own Briley Hughes talked about how confident Franks looked during the spring game, stating that he shut the door on any talk of a quarterback competition.

Franks passed for 327 yards and four touchdowns in the spring game and looked like the quarterback everyone was expecting when he got to campus a few years ago. He has yet to live up to his potential, but Dan Mullen may finally be getting him to realize it. If spring ball is any indication, the offense is in secure hands with Franks.

The quarterback is the most important player on any given team, and that goes for Florida, too. Luckily, Franks looks like he’s headed in the right direction and Gator fans couldn’t be more excited.
