5. Trevon Grimes reaches 1,000-yard mark

If you followed Florida football this spring, you’d know that Trevon Grimes was a name that was mentioned quite a bit. The Ohio State transfer was mentioned as a potential breakout star and he showed flashes a season ago, finishing third on the team in receiving with 364 yards and two touchdowns on 26 receptions.

Not it’s his time to become the Gators’ No. 1 target despite the fact that Van Jefferson and Josh Hammond — the two lead returning receivers — are back.

Grimes had a record-breaking spring game performance, accounting for an astounding 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns — both of over 60 yards. He was a menace to the defensive backfield and looked like a true superstar at the receiver position.

With that type of spring game, you can only expect things to continue on an upward trend and carry over into the 2019 season, which I believe will happen with Grimes.

The junior wide out will have the season that he always expected would take place at Ohio State and catch over 60 passes for 1,000-plus yards and seven scores.
