3. Florida will start this season stronger than last year’s

Many fans were disappointed when Florida was upset by Kentucky in their second game of the season. In that game, the Gators just couldn’t get going offensively. They struggled in the run game, weren’t much better in the passing game, and couldn’t stop Kentucky’s offense.

I don’t expect a performance like that early this season for many reasons. For starters, their schedule is weaker this year. Miami is on the rise, but Florida should be better. Even though they will play Kentucky early in the season once again (this time at Kentucky), the Wildcats won’t be as good as they were last year.

More from Florida Gators

There will also be more consistency on the offensive side of the ball this year. There are questions on the offensive line, but Feleipe Franks will be a better passer. Mullen has definitely prioritized his development. The Gators will also have multiple running backs with experience coming back.

I believe Franks will definitely improve this year, but I’m not sure if he’s going to be a top-three quarterback in the SEC. There are plenty of other guys in the conference that will be fighting for that designation. However, I do believe he will be good enough to get Florida on a strong winning streak.

Miami will be hungry. Kentucky will be confident. However, neither team will be able to do anything against the Gators as the season kicks off in its first few weeks.
