2. C.J. Henderson will be the best corner in the SEC

This is definitely a bold prediction. There are always some great corners in the SEC. Trevon Diggs from Alabama will be returning from an injury this year. Georgia and LSU always have a corner or two that help them contend for DBU.

However, I think C.J. Henderson has the potential to be better than any of them.

Henderson is a lockdown corner that can play on the outside.  He only has 60 total tackles and six interceptions in his two-year career, but this is partially because he never gets the ball close to him. He doesn’t get a lot of tackles because his primary assignment rarely catches the ball. He only has six interceptions over two years because people refuse to throw the football his way now that he has proven himself as a corner.

With Polite gone and defensive pressure uncertain, being able to lock down a team’s top receiver will be incredibly valuable for Florida this season. Henderson gives them just this.

Henderson also scored two touchdowns in his freshman year off of interceptions. He doesn’t get a lot of opportunities to show it, but he is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He can also be aggressive when given the chance. He had three sacks in his sophomore year.

Many defenders grow in their junior year in college. I expect Henderson to have this type of growth. Based on the amount of skill he already has in his arsenal, anything extra he does will be amazing.
