Here we are again talking about the defensive side of the ball again. The Cardinal are bringing back just five starters from last year’s defense, but that’s not exactly a bad thing, especially with the rising stars they have.

First, the Cardinal have the aforementioned Ricky Miezan and Curtis Robinson at linebacker and Jovan Swann, Michael Williams and Thomas Booker on the defensive line, but no one is giving the secondary much attention, which is a crime. Though the secondary was mediocre last season, ranking 115th in passing yards allowed per game, there are two rising stars at the cornerback spots.

Everyone is talking about Paulson Adebo who is heading into his sophomore season and David Shaw even stated that he might be the best cornerback in the country, but one guy who made a move this spring is junior Obi Eboh.

Eboh had a heck of a spring, capped off by a strong spring game where he almost had an interception after jumping a route, but it resulted in a pass breakup. He looked like a No. 1 cornerback and should ease into a starting role this fall.

The defensive backfield is getting stronger.
