Louisiana football is going into year two under Billy Napier after winning the West division in year one. What can we expect in 2019?

Louisiana managed to have a decent season in Billy Napier’s first year at the helm in Lafayette. After replacing Mark Hudspeth, Napier was expected to bring his offensive prowess to Louisiana and he did not disappoint.

In fact, Louisiana averaged 32 points and 424 yards per game in 2018. The Cajuns return a dynamic duo at the running back position and have an experienced quarterback to lead the offense in 2019.

The season does not start easy for the Cajuns as they will face Mississippi State in New Orleans to kick off the year. After that, they’ll face Liberty and Texas Southern in Lafayette before traveling to Athens, Ohio, to face off against MAC opponent Ohio.

In conference play, two of the first four games comes against Sun Belt conference leaders Appalachian State and Arkansas State in back-to-back weeks. To wrap up the season, Louisiana will get Troy and ULM at home.

After a 7-5 campaign in 2018 that included a bowl appearance the Ragin’ Cajuns are looking to make progress and compete for conference title in 2019. What can we expect from this team in year two of Napier?
