One of the most important figures in Last Chance U Season 4 was quarterback Jay Jones who never really reached his potential. Where is he now?

Jay Jones brought that excitement in the first episode. The Georgia Tech transfer decided the Yellow Jackets weren’t a good fit because of their play style and even though Jones was a top-tier runner, he wanted to pass, too.

Jason Brown recruited him to Independence C.C. and it looked like Jones was going to be the star of Season 4 as the starting quarterback, but a hamstring injury held him back.

The training staff told him that he could go full speed in the first game of the season and he did just that, breaking off a long run on the opening drive, but he was in noticeable pain as he sprinted toward the end zone and was tackled inside the 10. He hobbled off the field and never went back in, giving way to Chase Hildreth.

The pressure was already mounting for Jones as Brown had brought back Malik Henry in a surprise move as a scout team quarterback. That didn’t last long as Henry found his way back onto the field and Jones was a forgotten man.

Jones eventually made his way back to the starting lineup by the end of the year, but his struggles with accuracy and decision making led to his benching yet again.

The season ended with him having only a handful of passing attempts and games played, but he was in the credits which stated he was open to moving to receiver at the Division 1 level.

Also, he had surgery in the offseason which is major because he had a multitude of injuries to deal with.

Though he hasn’t officially announced a new home for his football dreams, he’s going to make some team very lucky if he can stay healthy at either receiver or quarterback.

Unfortunately, his time in Independence didn’t yield the results he wanted as his career there ended on a bit of a sour note.
