Though having only played six times since 2000, Florida football and Miami have remained heated rivals since the turn of the millennium.

The University of Florida and the University of Miami have one of the most bitter rivalries in college football. The mutual contention doesn’t just emit from the time spent on the football field, but also because many players on both teams grew up playing each other around the state of Florida and already have personal rivalries from high school.

Currently, Miami leads the overall series 29-26.

The rivalry, indeed, has a storied history, though it has little recent history to show. The lack of recent games between the schools has exponentially increased the excitement for when these teams meet on Aug. 24 to open the 150th season of college football.

Since 2000, Florida has only managed a 1-5 record against the Hurricanes and has lost on average by almost two touchdowns in those defeats. Those crushing losses have led to some mean-spirited feelings toward several former Miami players for their performance and antics during the contests against the Gators.

Let’s walk through the five Hurricane players most hated by Gator Nation since 2000.
