There will be many people who will question me even putting starting quarterback Kellen Mond on this list, but let’s be real here — when you call yourself the best quarterback in the SEC at media days you all the sudden have a lot to prove in the coming season. His direct quote is shown below.

Overall, Mond has been a slightly above average quarterback with a great supporting cast. Don’t want to believe me? Let’s look at the stats.

During Mond’s freshman year, his completion percentage sat at 51. He bumped it up to 57 in 2018 under a coach who put all of his belief in him, something that Mond definitely needed. He did throw 24 touchdowns and run for seven more in 2018, which is infinitely better than what he put up in 2017 — eight throwing and three rushing.

Simply put, Mond still has a lot of growing to do — especially with his comments about him being the best in the SEC. We all know how that kind of comment worked out for Benny Snell — who was not the best running back in the SEC a year ago.

Now, Mond has to prove that he’s at least substantially better than in 2018.
