When was the last time Tennessee truly contender for an SEC title? You’d have to go back a ways to find the answer to that one, but Jeremy Pruitt feels like he’s starting to get through to his guys heading into his second season in Knoxville. There were times in 2018 where it looked as if Tennessee had turned a corner, but then it finished the season with two blowout losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt.

Florida handed it to Tennessee last season as well, walloping the Volunteers 47-21 on their own field but this season’s game will be much closer.

Will Tennessee and Jarrett Guarantano figure out a way to score regularly on the Gators’ defense? Probably not since the Vols’ offense ranked 108th in scoring and 122nd in total offense a year ago while Florida is known for keeping teams out of the end zone, but they’ll still put up a respectable fight.

Trevon Grimes will have a big day for the Gators, accounting for 150 receiving yards while Feleipe Franks breaks 300 again and the run game remains consistent. The Gators will be a well-oiled machine by the end of this one.

Final Score: Tennessee 17, Florida 31 (4-0, 2-0)
