When you think about college football stars, Virginia probably isn’t the first program that comes to mind, but the Cavaliers have two of them this season and both are named Bryce. The first is Bryce Perkins, a talented dual-threat quarterback who has flown under the radar and could be one of the most underrated players in the country.
The other is one of the top 50 players in college football, and he may even out-play this ranking in the 2019 season. Bryce Hall has been listed by many as a first-team preseason All-American and there’s no doubt he has the talent to be the best cornerback in the nation.
Hall is on just about every preseason award watch list and is almost a lock to be First-Team All-ACC before the season is over, especially if he can recreate his 2018 performance. He started all 13 games for Virginia as a junior, leading the nation with 22 pass breakups and was tied for first with 24 passes defended. He was the epitome of a lockdown corner for the Cavaliers.
Besides just swatting away pass attempts, he was aggressive as a tackler as well, recording a career-best 62 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks to go along with two interceptions.
With his size, he might be one of the most coveted corners in the upcoming NFL Draft. When you think of lockdown defenders, his name has to pop up.
