College Football is finally back, and John and Zach turn their attention to the new season with a preview of the Week 0 action.

Our national nightmare is finally over as college football returns on Saturday after a long offseason. It’s been seven months since we’ve seen real action on the gridiron, and while most of college football won’t kick off for another week, the football gods have smiled upon us and given us a pair of delicious contests as appetizers in Week 0.

Miami and Florida mutually agreed to move their previously scheduled August 31st contest in Orlando up a week to give the two rivals center stage as they kick off what is sure to be an exciting and action packed season.

The Gators enter the matchup in the preseason top 10, fresh off of a double-digit win campaign in Dan Mullen’s first season in Gainesville.

On the other side of the field, Manny Diaz enters his first season as head coach of the Hurricanes after spending the last few seasons as the team’s defensive coordinator. Diaz will be looking to get the ‘Canes back to the top of the ACC after a down season in 2018.

While all eyes will certainly be on the primetime matchup between the two rivals from the Sunshine State, there’s an intriguing late night affair in Honolulu. Arizona travels to Hawaii to open the season against the Rainbow Warriors.

Both of our hosts are high on Hawaii’s prospects in 2019, but can they actually shock the nation and upset the Wildcats in week zero? Kevin Sumlin’s seat will only get hotter if Arizona follows up a disappointing 2018 with a season opening loss to a group-of-five program.

Along with previewing the FBS contests in week one, John and Zach also take a look at the week’s FCS matchups, along with taking a few moments to ponder the 150 years of college football, and how the sport differs today from back when it first started. They also take a look at the future of the sport, and the possible changes that could be in store over the next few decades.

To wrap up this week’s episode, our two hosts go back to their tailgating roots and discuss what they’ll be eating and drinking to celebrate the return of college football this weekend.

Enjoy the games everybody.
