UCF football dominated Florida A&M in its first game of the season. Let’s take a look at what else we learned from this opening victory.

The UCF Knights’ 25-game win streak spanned across two college football season. The streak ended with an eight point loss to the LSU Tigers in the 2018 Fiesta Bowl, 40-32. Unfortunately, this loss came with the Knights’ starting quarterback, McKenzie Milton, sidelined for a tragic leg injury that was suffered at the end of the regular season.

During these two spectacular seasons, the Knights transformed college football and the way in which people consider who deserves to be selected for the College Football Playoff.

The playoff committee set a momentous precedent regarding undefeated teams and the way various college football conferences are valued. UCF won 24 games in a row, including a New Year’s Six Bowl against Auburn and two American Athletic Conference championships, and still were not selected for the College Football Playoff. Did they deserve a shot? That answer deserves its own article.

UCF opened up their 2019 season against the Florida A&M Rattlers in an effort to take their first steps towards starting a new winning streak. By halftime, UCF was winning, 48-0. The game ended uneventfully, 62-0.

Let’s look at a few more takeaways from this season opener.
