The opening weekend of college football had everything from last-second wins to major upsets. Here are five things we learned in Week 1.

Week 1 sees the first on-field action after so much talk and so many storylines. There were five major revelations this weekend, but before that, a few honorable mentions.

Wisconsin is back to its winning ways

Last year, an early road trip in the non-conference saw the Badgers fall to lowly BYU. This weekend, they went to Tampa and manhandled USF. That’s a good sign of improvement.

A tough start for the Trojans

Clay Helton is on the hot seat, and losing your starting quarterback and struggling to fend off Fresno State are things that certainly don’t help matters.

Adrian Martinez shaky in the opener

If not for Nebraska’s defense, the Huskers would have opened the year 0-1 after hosting South Alabama. Quarterback Adrian Martinez struggled all afternoon.

Strong start for Satterfield?
