3. Feleipe Franks’ worst game has already happened

The success or failure of the Florida football team in 2019 depends on how good Feleipe Franks can be. It’s that simple. With Dan Mullen as head coach, many expected Franks to surge. Mullen is known as being the quarterback whisperer. However, he hasn’t necessarily been able to get the most out of Franks on a consistent basis.

In Mullen’s first season, Franks struggled at first. However, he slowly progressed as the season went on. By the time their bowl game came around, he was doing everything right. Many expected him to pick up right where he left off, but that did not happen in the season opener.

Against Miami, Franks had two interceptions. He also was the part of a couple of bad exchanges with running backs that caused fumbles. He made some big plays, but his errors were too often and detrimental. His worst play was a costly interception when the Gators had the opportunity to run the clock out.

Despite all of this, I expect him to play a lot better in September. He might struggle later in the season, but I think his worst game of the first five weeks is already behind him. He has a couple of easy games in September, but I think he will play better against the SEC opponents as well.
