Both USC and Stanford football were winners in their season openers but which team will come out on top in the Pac-12 Game of the Week?

While they weren’t the prettiest of wins, both the Stanford Cardinal and the USC Trojans picked up victories in Week 1. And while they were both victors, each suffered a loss at the quarterback position.

For the Trojans, JT Daniels is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, while the Cardinal’s quarterback, KJ Costello, is questionable for Saturday night’s game following a scary hit to the head during their win over Northwestern,

While they’re not in the same division, this conference game is big for both schools who are trying to take claim of the Pac-12.

Here’s how you can watch Saturday’s game between Stanford and USC:

Date: Saturday, Aug. 31
Time: 10:30 p.m. ET
Location: Los Angeles, Calif.
Venue: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
TV: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Keys to Victory

For the Cardinal, they’ll look for their defense to be the tone setter in this one. After an impressive Week 1 performance, they’ll look to continue their hot start against USC. On offense, Stanford will look to control the time of possession. USC has the ability to put up numbers and providing their defense with extra breathers, could prove worthy.

USC needs to ignore all of the outside chatter. There’s pressure on everyone in that program to win this year and make at least the Rose Bowl. They need to remain calm and focus on the Cardinal, before they get ahead of themselves and end up losing one of their biggest games of the 2019 season.

Prediction

Not a lot of points will be scored in this one but it will still be entertaining. It’s a classic battle between these two schools and if you’re able to stay up late for this Pac-12 After Dark matchup, you might see one of the best games of the season take place. USC keeps pace with the Cardinal, but the Stanford bends but doesn’t break, as the Cardinal finish this one on top.

Final: Stanford 24, USC 21.
