Texas A&M Football: 3 overreactions to disappointing loss vs. Clemson
By Shelbie Warr
1. The season is over
Take a breath, Aggie fans. It is only Week 2. Yeah, this loss stunk and it hurt to watch if you bleed Maroon and White. However, there are still opportunities to prove that this is one of those good teams in the SEC and not a mediocre, middle of the road team in the SEC West.
They still have a strong schedule that could easily get them into a New Years Six bowl if they put their hearts into it and play at the level that they are capable of playing at. The remaining schedule is as follows.
- Saturday, Sept. 14: vs. Lamar Cardinals (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Sept. 21: vs. Auburn Tigers (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Sept. 28: vs. Arkansas Razorbacks (AT&T Stadium – Arlington, Texas)
- Saturday, Oct. 12: vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Oct. 19: at Ole Miss Rebels (Oxford, Miss.)
- Saturday, Oct. 26: vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Nov. 2: vs. UTSA Roadrunners (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Nov. 16: vs. South Carolina Gamecocks (College Station, Texas)
- Saturday, Nov. 23: at Georgia Bulldogs (Athens, Ga.)
- Saturday, Nov. 30: at LSU Tigers (Baton Rouge, La.)
The biggest overreaction I have seen is that the season is over now.
Honestly, I expected the Aggies to lose this game. There are still 10 more opportunities to make a name for themselves. Ten more chances to win and at the very least make a play for a bowl game. The season is not over by a long shot and the fan base needs to stop treating it as such.
