1. Pac-12 title, College Football Playoff hopes are dashed

That’s it, no more Pac-12 title for Washington.

No team has ever come back from losing an early conference game to winning the league crown. Oh wait, yes they have. See, this is why you can’t overreact to early-season losses because they don’t hold any weight on what happens in the final month.

There’s an old saying that goes, “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish,” and that has never been more true for a team that it is right now for Washington.

The Huskies got out of the gates a little slow, but the season is a marathon and not a sprint. Things may look bad right now, but it only takes a few corrected mistakes and everyone getting on the same page and you’re back to being a contender.

Washington has as much talent as any team in the Pac-12 and is arguably the conference’s best hope for a playoff berth, so don’t give up after one upset at home — these things happen.

Army took Oklahoma to overtime a year ago and the Sooners still found a way to make the playoff after correcting things. Ohio State lost to Virginia Tech at home in 2014 and still went on to win the national title. Washington will be just fine.
