Blitz Podcast: Looking ahead to college football’s Week 3 action
By Zach Bigalke
John and Zach review Week 2 college football action and dive in to pick several key games against the spread in a look ahead to Week 3.
There were a few major surprises in Week 2 that helped shake up the college football pecking order from sea to shining sea. We also saw some of the top teams in the country dominate their opponents, further separating the wheat from the chaff at the FBS level.
Through the first few weeks of the season, the number of matchups between Top 25 teams can be counted on a single hand. That has allowed chaos to reign on the gridiron.
We have also enjoyed some big Cinderella results, with Tennessee and UCLA both collapsing against non-Power Five teams for the second straight week. The Volunteers and Bruins now find themselves behind the 8-ball as the dream of bowl eligibility fades with each passing week.
Who had the best win among all the action that transpired over Week 2? Which team suffered the worst loss? What surprised you the most? And who were the exemplary performers of the week on offense and defense?
John and I tackle these questions before diving in to break down five key Week 3 games against the spread. In the final segment, we offer a few additional locks and upset picks against the spread to get you prepped up for the next batch of games.
Finally, what will we be eating and drinking this weekend? In the spirit of tailgaters across the country, we offer up our plans for Saturday fare to stay fueled up as most teams round the quarter pole of the regular season.
