College football’s Week 3 produced some interesting results, leading into a strong Week 4 slate filled with intriguing matchups across the country.

The gap between the elite teams in college football and the rest of the pack looks as big as ever through three weeks of action. The likes of Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State, and LSU have separated themselves as elite teams, and it would be a surprise if the playoff field wasn’t produced from that list of six.

There’s other quality teams out there, though, and group-of-five leagues such as the American Athletic Conference and the Mountain West have stated their claims as legitimate power conferences. Those two leagues look to be neck-and-neck with the ACC and Pac-12 so far this season.

The week three slate was derided all week leading up to it as one of the weakest of the season with no ranked vs. ranked matchups, but there was still plenty of drama delivered with a few surprising upsets to boot.

Which team came away with the best win of week three? How about the worst loss? And what was the most surprising result of the weekend? Zach and John tackle those topics, as well as handing out some game balls to pack up the grill on the week three action before shifting focus to week four on this week’s podcast.

Week four has several huge matchups, highlighted by an out-of-conference showdown between Georgia and Notre Dame in Athens and a huge Big Ten matchup between Wisconsin and Michigan. The College Football Playoff race will get a bit clearer after those two games are decided this weekend.

Along with picking the biggest games of the weekend, our hosts offer up some gambling advice to all the degenerates out there looking to make a buck. What teams are on upset alert, and what are the biggest locks of the week against the spread?

To wrap up this edition of the Saturday Blitz Podcast, as always, Zach and John offer up some tailgating selections for the listeners. What will they be cooking up, and what adult beverage will they be using to wash it down with?
