3. Max Borghi goes off

Max Borghi has had a quietly great season for the cougars. Just three games into the season and Borghi already has four touchdowns to his name and is averaging 7.8 yards per carry on the ground. You might wonder, why doesn’t Leach then run it more? The answer is in the numbers, to get that many yards per carry, WSU often finds themselves gashing defenses that are playing heavy towards the passing attack.

UCLA just gave up 611 yards total to Oklahoma on their home turf. Oklahoma may be more talented, but they run the same offense as Mike Leach. This plays right into Borghi’s hand since 309 of those total yards actually came on the ground.

Expect Borghi to have a huge day not only on the ground but catching a few touchdowns out of the backfield to help the Cougar offense put up big numbers against a soft UCLA defense.
