2. Kyle Trask looks good, wins his first start

Last week, after Feleipe Franks‘ injury, it was Kyle Trask that was called upon to take over the Gator offense. He would lead them to the comeback victory, but there was still a question about Trask. Sure, with a team galvanized after his predecessor’s injury, Trask was able to pull off the win. Going forward, though, would Trask prove capable of leading this team on a weekly basis?

On Saturday, it certainly appeared so. He didn’t waste any time either. On his first drive of the game, Trask and the Gator passing attack went through the Volunteer defense like a hot knife through butter.

On the day, Trask went 20-of-28 for 293 yards and two touchdowns. As the game played out, he had his mistakes, which included two interceptions, but Trask once again proved to be a reliable passer for Dan Mullen.

Considering everything around Trask only reinforces that he can get the job done. His offensive line gave him ample time to deliver the ball on several occasions.

The run game, along with Emory Jones, were able to sit on the ball and kill so much of the clock in the fourth quarter.

Od course, there’s also the wide receivers. When you have Freddie Swain, Van Jefferson, Tyrie Cleveland, Kyle Pitts, and Trevon Grimes helping you out, you’re bound to play well.
